Mainly because there's so many internet bots, scammers & malicious software creators that'll scrape the contacts out of your page & spam the living dog shit out of you and your customers. I could throw Captcha services into my page & thwart most of it, but we're sailors on a budget. But here's what we've got for the time being.

For many years I fucking hated Facebook because I thought they did a piss poor job of protecting your personal information,
preventing page takeovers or commiting identity theft. I even dropped as a consumer for more than 5 years. But when
Covid hit, FB was about the only way you could stay in touch with family & friends. So,... grudgingly I re-activated
my account, and then created a commercial profile for the band. To be honest, I still don't have a high opinion of Facebook.
Maybe I'm just old but stupid TXT based memes over someone's portrait is trash media. Likewise with video segments of stupid
people doing stupid'er things, add redirects generated by your purchase activity, it's all just noise & I have to really work
hard to find something worthwhile to look at. And don't even get me started on the shoddy filtering. Once in a while you'll
find a gem...
